Landry/French Construction expands its legacy through landmark projects, employee ownership, and a commitment to excellence
Since day one, Landry/French Construction (Landry/French) has built its reputation on a simple but powerful belief: that exceptional buildings begin with exceptional relationships. Guided by a mission to build unrivaled relationships through trust, accountability, and bold action, the employee-owned commercial construction company is known for its relentless pursuit of excellence, clear accountability at every level, and teams that execute with urgency, confidence, and pride. Since its founding in 2010, Landry/French has delivered construction management, design-build, and general contracting services across a diverse range of industries, with particular strength in the education sector, while earning the confidence of clients throughout New England and Florida.

What began as a vision shared by founders Denis Landry and Kevin French has since grown into one of the region’s leading commercial contractors. Today, Landry/French has grown to approximately 120 employee-owners and annual revenues exceeding $350 million, with the capacity to deliver some of the industry’s most complex projects. The company continues to invest in its people, strengthen client partnerships, and build the schools, civic facilities, and commercial spaces that help communities thrive. Kevin French, now serving as the organization’s Chief Executive Officer, joins Construction Today to share insight into some of Landry/French’s most recent projects, starting with the construction of the Windham-Raymond Middle School in Windham, Maine.
“The Windham-Raymond Middle School is one of the largest and most significant projects in Landry/French’s history,” he begins. “Measuring 260,000 square feet, the school will include a 600-seat auditorium, two gymnasiums, an indoor elevated running track, flexible learning environments and collaboration spaces, and dining and community facilities designed for both student and public use.
“This project is notable because it is the largest school ever constructed in the State of Maine, making it a landmark project for both RSU 14 and Landry/French. The school is scheduled to open in fall 2027 and will serve approximately 1200 students in Grades 5-8.”
Precision and partnership
While the Windham-Raymond Middle School represents the company’s continued leadership in large-scale educational construction, Landry/French’s portfolio also reflects a proven ability to deliver equally ambitious projects across higher education. One recent example at Colby College, Maine, demonstrates how the company’s expertise extends beyond traditional construction, combining technical innovation, sustainable building practices, and thoughtful design to create facilities that leave a lasting impact.
“A project that we recently completed was the Mayflower Hill Residence Hall at Colby College. This was one of the most distinctive and technically advanced projects Landry/French has undertaken,” Kevin reveals. “The residence hall is designed to complement Colby’s historic campus while embracing modern sustainability and student-centered design. It features a sandstone brick exterior with extensive glazing, double-pitched roofs that echo traditional New England architecture, and natural mass timber exposed throughout the interior. Measuring 112,000 square feet, the residence hall is Maine’s largest mass timber (CLT) building, constructed with cross-laminated timber (CLT) floors supported by glulam columns and beams and comprised of six interconnected three and four-story buildings. The building is designed to foster student interaction through suite-style living and community spaces. It includes 217 single-occupancy bedrooms organized into four-, five-, and six-person suites, each with shared bathrooms, living rooms, and kitchenettes. The lower-level houses laundry, storage, and building support services, alongside a new campus café serving breakfast, lunch, coffee, and evening offerings.
“The project showcases Landry/French’s ability to deliver highly complex institutional facilities using innovative construction methods,” he explains. “The use of mass timber required extensive planning, coordination, and precision, positioning the company as a leader in sustainable and technically sophisticated construction.”
The Mayflower Hill Residence Hall project highlights Landry/French’s ability to deliver complex, highly specialized institutional facilities with a focus on innovation, sustainability, and occupant experience. That same commitment to precision and partnership extends beyond higher education, as the company continues to apply its expertise to projects that support critical industries and advance the future of manufacturing and healthcare. The ongoing Mölnlycke Health Care Expansion, in particular, represents another example of Landry/French’s ability to navigate technically demanding environments while delivering solutions that meet the evolving needs of its clients.
“We recently broke ground on the Mölnlycke Health Care Expansion in Brunswick, Maine. This is one of the most significant industrial projects in Landry/French’s portfolio and reinforces the company’s growing reputation in advanced manufacturing and life sciences,” Kevin enthuses.

“Valued at approximately $134m – Mölnlycke’s largest investment to date – the project is a multi-phase expansion of Mölnlycke’s US wound care manufacturing campus. The development will include 79,000 square feet of new construction and a complete renovation and modernization of the existing 64,000-square-foot manufacturing facility. With the expansion of the warehouse and clean manufacturing space, we’re implementing new production lines, offices, warehouses, and support spaces.
“This project is strategically important for both organizations. For Mölnlycke, it increases US manufacturing capacity for advanced wound care products, strengthens domestic supply chains, supports long-term sustainability initiatives through renewable energy systems, including solar and wind power. For us, this project demonstrates our ability to manage complex pharmaceutical and medical manufacturing facilities, expanding our portfolio in the life sciences and advanced manufacturing sectors. Alongside that, it reinforces our longstanding relationships with repeat clients who value collaboration, planning, and execution.”
Disiciplined execution
From landmark educational facilities and innovative higher education spaces to advanced manufacturing and life sciences projects, Landry/French continues to demonstrate that a strong culture, engaged employee-owners, and a commitment to excellence are the foundation for long-term success. With a clear vision for the next chapter, the company remains focused not just on building more than exceptional structures, but a legacy of trust, partnership, and positive change in the communities it serves.
“As we enter the second half of 2026, our priorities remain focused on disciplined execution while positioning the company for its next phase of growth,” Kevin affirms. “Five years from now, I believe Landry/French will be recognized as one of the premier employee-owned construction companies in the United States, not simply because of our size, but because of our culture, our people, and the trust we’ve earned. Our vision is to become a $1b company built on four strong regional operations, each capable of generating approximately $250m in annual revenue. We will continue to diversify our portfolio across healthcare, higher education, advanced manufacturing, aviation and aerospace, life sciences, and infrastructure, creating a resilient business that can thrive through changing market conditions.
“What will never change is who we are. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished over the past 16 years, but I’m even more excited about what’s ahead. We’ve built a strong foundation, assembled an exceptional team, and created a culture that challenges us to be better today than we were yesterday,” he promises, concluding our conversation.
“If there’s one thing I’d want people to remember about Landry/French, it’s this: we are committed to building something much bigger than great buildings. We’re building a company that creates opportunities for our employee-owners, delivers lasting value to our clients, strengthens the communities we serve, and leaves a legacy that future generations will be proud of.”
