Driven by purpose and precision, Albert Weiss is setting new standards in comfort and service
Built on 66 years of success, Albert Weiss is New York’s leading provider of air conditioning and HVAC solutions. Representing dozens of major manufacturers in the HVAC space, the company works primarily with consulting engineering owner and contracting clients.
With its industry-leading portfolio, Albert Weiss delivers a vast range of solutions – from registers, grilles, and diffusers to air handling equipment. Alongside its core offering, the company also provides products for more niche applications – including noise control products, fan coils, variable frequency drives, and gas detection equipment.
As a one-stop-shop for all airside HVAC necessities, Albert Weiss is always looking to expand its product portfolio. As Chief Operating Officer, Christopher Tomesko, reveals: “We’re currently looking to expand our horizons, by offering customers access to new start-ups in our industry that are leveraging proven existing technologies. Our industry is rapidly evolving for a multitude of reasons, and it’s our mission to remain one step ahead.”
From its base in New York City, Albert Weiss works with clients to kit out major commercial spaces with the very best in HVAC technology. As the city’s corporate landscape continues to evolve, Christopher and his team have adapted their services to suit post-pandemic working culture: “Covid-19 certainly changed the way people worked. For a long time, there was a push to work from home, but the pandemic made it almost mandatory for a period of time, and when restrictions were lifted, the migration back into the office was slow.
“Since our products are primarily suited to commercial properties, we had to think strategically and look closely at economic trends. We kept a close eye on leasing activity and targeted growth areas and vertical market segments across the city.
“It’s now been five years since the outbreak, and we’re seeing the healthiest leasing numbers in 20 years within the commercial space. Professional industries such as finance and healthcare have a strong office-based culture, so we’ve worked closely with contractors and engineers in those sectors.
“We’ve also picked up opportunities in the tech space as well as with clients that are offering co-working solutions. Data centers continue to grow at rapid rates, our solutions are a vital asset for the safety and comfort of on-site staff. In addition, there’s been a lot of activity in the public sector, which we’ve been able to leverage into a good number of K-12 contracts as well as correctional facilities.
“Overall, I’m humbled by the way our team was able to adapt and find new opportunities during such an uncertain time. It was definitely a challenging period for the business – but we’ve been able to evolve with even more momentum.”
Demonstrating adaptability and durability, Albert Weiss successfully evolved to meet the needs of a post-pandemic world. These qualities have not only allowed the company to survive, but to thrive. Christopher enthuses: “We’re proud to say that the business has grown threefold since 2022. In part, that accomplishment comes down to having a clear vision and delivering on our mission. Our success is a product of the level of customer service that we provide. There is nothing that we won’t do for our customers and we are blessed to represent some of the best manufacturers in the world that feel the same way.
“Coming out of the pandemic, we focused on upskilling our workforce through training and bringing in new people. We’ve added some exceptionally talented individuals to our company who have helped us build new connections across different industries.
“By leveraging those relationships, we’ve forged new partnerships with company owners and end users higher up the construction value chain. At the same time, several of our long-term clients have grown exponentially, which has supported our own growth trajectory through a significant uptick in demand.”
Alongside the value added by its highly skilled workforce, Albert Weiss continues to drive success through strategic investment in AI and Machine Learning. “We’ve leveraged new technology to better serve our ever-expanding client network,” says Christopher. “By dedicating more time and energy to our social channels, we’ve made our portfolio more accessible and client focused. We’ve also introduced updates to our website to help visitors find what they need with greater ease with more updates coming.
“As the company manages higher transaction volumes than ever before, we’ve adopted AI-powered tools across all workflows that enable us to deliver accurate and efficient bids as well as manage logistics. These innovations have been invaluable in helping us scale the business and manage large orders.”
As the company continues to grow, it remains committed to planet-friendly practices – as a business, Albert Weiss has always been committed to delivering sustainable options. “We work closely with our clients, especially those in the engineering sector, to help develop energy-efficient property designs both to be environmentally conscious and because of mandates prescribed by Local Law 97,” Christopher explains.
“Our product line includes a range of sustainable solutions, and we have in-house experts who can assist in implementing these systems as effectively as possible. HVAC technology is continually evolving, and we’re always on the lookout for the next technical breakthrough.
“We’ve recently come across a start-up manufacturer that can build a product capable of operating at 50 percent greater efficiency than any one of its competitors. I believe we have a moral duty to ensure our client base knows these alternatives are available, and we aim to spotlight eco-friendly products whenever possible.
“Sustainable practice is about protecting everyone’s future, including our own. We have big plans to provide fully mechanical solutions and integrated systems that will further support this initiative. Our plan for the coming years is to remain focused on service and advocate for our clients during the design, construction, and maintenance phases of their facilities. We ensure that the right product is selected for the right application,” he concludes.
